New York, New York, here it comes!

01 July 2017

Tonight, Queen Mary 2 is traveling into the homestretch at 23 knots towards New York. The ocean liner is expected tomorrow, on Saturday at 04.45 am local time, under the Verrazano-Narrows bridge, to embody the finish line of the symbolic race which started last Sunday in Saint-Nazaire, and become the winner against the ultimate trimarans.

Its 2000 passengers will have the privilege to salute the Statue of Liberty in the first day lights, at 5:30 am then 6:00 am. A stormy weather with rain is the only potential threat which could crash the arrival of this crossing of the centenary on the footsteps of the June 1917American landing, which promises to be unforgettable.

No matter what happens, magic will prevail, as the end of this exceptional transat will be celebrated with lots of emotions. Then the ship will join Brooklyn at 8am where all eyes will focus on the four multihulls, who are still meeting the expectations of this historical event as they deliver an astonishing fight in the oceanic regatta.
